Vose Seminary

About the Seminary

Vose Seminary (formerly Baptist Theological College of Western Australia) has been training Christian leaders since 1963. Vose Seminary is sponsored by the Baptist Churches of Western Australia to serve all the churches of Western Australia. While graduates are often employed in Baptist churches, they serve in many different denominations and missions organisations, both in Western Australia and around the world.

The theological stance of Vose Seminary is evangelical and gospel-centred. A high commitment to the Christian Scriptures leads to in-depth study of the Bible as essential, together with encouragement of dedicated Christian discipleship and active evangelism.

In equipping people for ministry and witness in a changing world we:

  • Integrate biblical, theological and practical studies along with personal spiritual development and community life.
  • Respond to contemporary issues for faith and witness.
  • Provide resources for life-long ministry and witness in a changing world.
  • Have qualified faculty who are evangelical in conviction, committed to maturity in Christ and are actively involved in local church life and witness.
  • Encourage students in their own understanding of the Christian faith and develop their skills for ministry.
  • Provide first-class library resources that enable interaction with the best of Christian experience through the centuries and from all continents.
  • Are flexible in course arrangements to meet varying vocational goals.

Vose Seminary teaches its own accredited certificate and diploma courses for all people. Vose Seminary offers a variety of study options, ranging from the single unit to the degree with both full-time and part-time options available.

The variety of awards and flexibility in the new and exciting curriculum enables preparation for differing vocational goals of ministry and witness. Graduates of Vose Seminary serve as pastors, youth workers, chaplains, children's workers, evangelists, missionaries, Bible and theological college lecturers, college principals, counsellors, school teachers and as Christians in their professions, both here and overseas.
